Aoife graduated as a Mechanical Engineer and initially spent 5 years in Project Managemet for an SME in the Water Treatment industry. She progressed into the Multi-national sector with Ericsson Mobile Phones where she established and managed the Customer Service division. She then took on the role of Customer Service Manager for 7 of WorldCom’s Global clients based in Ireland and London, including Morgan Stanley and Microsoft.
In 2003, she opened her own restaurant in Howth, Dublin which traded very successfully for 12 years. In addition she also managed a gourmet Delicatessen and successfully completed an exit for the owner in 2013.
Throughout this period she served as a Director / Board Member of many organisations including
- Restaurant Association of Ireland,
- Safefood (the Cross Border Food Safety Promotions Board) ,
- Fingal Tourism,
- Bord Iascaigh Mhara (Government Agency with responsibility for Fisheries),
- Visit Howth Peninsula Ltd (Chair)
- Dublin Bay Prawn Festival (Chair)
Under her tenure, Visit Howth Peninsula has driven the growth in visitor numbers to the town from a low base of 200K to 1M visitors in 2015. One of the key projects of her Chair has been the inception and delivery of the Dublin Bay Prawn festival, now it its 6th year and the largest independent food festival in Ireland and fast becoming a global brand.
Aoife has now embarked on a new phase of her career as a Consultant, based from Lisbon, bringing the energy, enthusiasm and insights she has gained from successful projects in helping other clients achieve and exceed their goals.
